Event: Season Opener Tactical
Brownwood, Texas

Date: 13-14 September 2008

Location: Brownwood, Texas

Greetings All,

Below is the germ of the tactical scenario for the upcoming Brownwood season opener!  It's very simple and to the point.   I sent this message to the two respective allied/Axis commanders week befor last, so they could begin planning with the assorted TMHS unit commanders their operational orders.  I've already heard back from one of the O/A commanders who stated he had several ideas that might spice up the scenario.

Unit Commanders,,,,,  if you haven't heard from either of your respecive O/A commanders, I suggest you contact them to let them know whether you will or will not be attending the season opener and what support weapons, vehicles etc., you might be bringing.  You may wish to do this as a personal message and not overload the message board.  I think this has the potential to be a really fun event.  No time schedule need be involved and all are free to move at their own pace.  Lot's of snooping and pooping!   I fear it will still be warmer weather, so this scenario should fit in really well!

If any of you plan on attending without your unit or only partial units, please contact your respective O/A commander. ALSO, if anyone wishes to participate as resistance or knows any non TMHS members that would like to participate as additional resistance, please let the O/A allied commander know ASAP.   As stated, this is your tactical.  It's only as sucessful as you all want to make it.  I still think this one will offer a lot of fun and look forward to seeing all there this September!

Thanks to you all!

Herer's the warning order to the O/A Commanders

Greetings Gents!!!!!

Okay!  Here's the plan for Brownwood.  Had an idea passed to me several months ago by a member and I think it will be  fun to carry out!!!!!!!!  It will pit hunter against hunter.  Encourage some small unit leadership.  And should provide for some tense moments with lots of trigger time!!!!!

What I'm speaking about is todays military terminology is a "DART" mission!  Downed Airman Recovery Team!  We have a volunteer allied airman (whom I have bc'd in this email to hide his identity for now!) whose capture or rescue will be the objective of the tactical.

This tactical will involve you two as overall allied and axis commanders to contact your respective unit leaders from the TMHS and plan your missions.  Their will be designated starting positions for both sides.  Naturally the airman will be "behind enemy lines" awaiting his fate.  BUT!!!!!  He has the assistance of the local resistance cell.  And there exist the possibility of non-combantant types in the area of operations as well.  So you have to decide who is and who isn't friendly!!!!!!!!!  Use the members only board, the commanders board, and or whatever other means you have available to make you plans and organize your forces.  Might want to begin with a headcount of units/members who will attend.

Object is to capture or rescue the airman who is in possession of top secret documents.  Completion of the tactical will be the return of the airman to the safety of the allied rear sector, OR, his delivery to axis high command HQ deep in the enemy rear section!  His location will remain unknown.  You gotta find him and his resistance contacts somewhere on Pat and Wanda's 500 acres!

It would be advisable that each side set up a casualty collection point that will be a neutral zone with water and medical resupply.  I'm sure that Pat will be running his power-wagon with water resupply and personnel pick-up as he usually does!

You two talk this over amongst yourselves!  This has the potential to be a really fun event!  Break in the new season.  Bring it in on a fun note.  It would also be advisable that this be a generic southern European/Mediterranean theatre of Operations type event due to the heat.  So, you can explain it as a North African, Sicilian, Italian, Southern France type of affair!

Take CR 261 south out of Zephyr Texas (which is on US 183 SE of Brownwood) all the way to the intersection of CR 258.  That's it!!!!!  It's about 5 miles south of town.  And there will be TMHS signs posted
